Compared free personal access at BCC and SLQ to Joyce’s blog http://www.schoollibraryjournal.com/blog/1340000334/post/1370052337.html We do not seem to have access to as many good databases for children, but good access for older students. However, free kids databases are available to help somewhat. See here for list and review http://kids.yahoo.com/learn http://searchenginewatch.com/3626298

Make your own widget with glogster

Glogster is very useful for creating posters, indexes, and graphic interactive webpages. Glogster can also be used to create your own blog widget that is just a link to a website as shown below right where the spider links to the public part of my netvibes site.

And here is an amazing very recent glog from Joyce Valenza used to navigate the many google search tools http://springfieldlibrary.wikispaces.com/Google+Search+Options
